All primary schools
School districts are determined by the legal residence of the student. Nevertheless, all parents have the choice to apply to any school in the city for their children according to the rules on school catchments, applications, and admission.
School catchments
Reykjavík has many school catchments. Selecting a district below will show a list of the schools in that catchment. The pages for the schools show the names of every street in that school catchment.
Student public transportation cards
Students attending school in their designated school catchment, in accordance with Reykjavík City's rules on school districts, application and enrollment in primary schools, are eligible for free Strætó Public Transport cards if the distance from their legal residence to school exceeds 1.5 km for grades 1-4 and 2 km for students in grades 5-10, provided fees apply under Strætó's fee schedule.
